The last thing anyone wants to realize on Christmas Day is that they forgot to buy a gift for a loved one or that they missed a special ingredient for the holiday dinner.
If you find yourself in this situation, it’s not completely hopeless. While many businesses are closed for the holiday, some stores and services will remain open.
For those who don’t celebrate Christmas, it can be a great day to watch a movie or eat a nice meal.

When it comes to leisure or emergency shopping, you won’t be able to do it at Tysons Mall or Clarksburg Outlets. Both are closed on Christmas Day.
Traveling without a car on Christmas Day may not be as easy as on a regular Monday, but there are options.
Metro trains operate on Sunday holiday schedules from 7 a.m. to midnight. Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule.
Road operator Transurban said there will be no U-turns for drivers traveling in the express lanes of I-95 on Christmas Day, and the lanes will remain southbound.
